We are looking for an experienced Insights/Innovation&Category Development Manager to manage a group or category of products for the company. The role requires to have extensive experience in understanding consumer needs and the retail environment. The job holder must have a commercial mindset and full comprehension of marketing and sales principles.
•             Analyze data and shopper, consumer, business insight to determine industry and consumer trends
•             Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
•             Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
•             Determine the positioning of a product category together with the Brand team to maximize visibility
•             Through insight, help marketing team with communication, activation promotion and pricing perspectives to develop category strategy and identify gaps in consumer/shopper needs which can be translated into category, product and brand ideas. 
•             Liaise with marketing & sales team to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category
•             Develop and implement creative and imaginative ways of displaying and disseminating insight.  Through this bring the consumer and insight to life in a manner that engages all stakeholders
•             Manage and optimise the brand tracking study. Drive its use in the business to support decision making and use this and other tools to enhance the understanding of our brands and customers.
•             Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
•             Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category
•             Use research and insight to drive cultural change within the organisation and ensure stakeholders put consumers at the heart of their planning and strategic thinking
•             Support the drive to build research and insight capability. This includes best practices, and the establishment of brand KPIs and dashboards
•             Attend focus groups, conferences and other events that may be outside normal working hours or place of work as required in order to undertake the role effectively,  
•             Ensure all output is timely, relevant, actionable and delivered on budget.
•             Lead the Brands Consumer Panels in order to optimise the output for key stakeholders
•             Support measures to increase the impact and visibility of consumer insight across the organisation.
•             Deliver ad hoc consumer and shopper insight projects that inform decision making for management.  
•             Thinks strategically and communicates creatively to inform and drive the decision making of stakeholders
•             Demonstrates sound judgement in addressing commercial challenges
•             Understands wider and external business issues
•             Effectively uses business data and multiple sources to craft a story and guide activities and decisions
•             Consistently focuses on the consumer – whether internal or external
•             Innovates to improve things within the team
•             Not afraid to challenge others and the status quo
•             Highly creative with the commitment to deliver and encourage fresh ideas
•             Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to adapt styles according to the audience, and to influence senior stakeholders
•             Proven experience as insights & category manager or similar role
•             Solid knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles
•             Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
•             Proficient in MS Office
•             An analytical mind with a strategic ability
•             Excellent communication and people skills
•             BSc/BA in business administration, marketing or related field
